Groundwork
North East
Groundwork is a regeneration charity working to improve
the quality of the local environment, the lives of local people
and the success of local businesses in need of investment and
support.
Groundwork is a federation of around 50 Trusts in England, Wales
and Northern Ireland. The Groundwork approach is adopted in
Europe, Japan and the USA where the National Park Service is
supporting a number of Trusts.
Each Trust works in partnership to deliver practical solutions
to local social, economic and environmental regeneration issues.
In the North East Groundwork is active in Durham, Northumberland,
Tyne and Wear and Tees Valley.
Groundwork's programmes are designed specifically:
- For people by creating opportunities for communities
and for individuals to learn new skills and to take action;
- For places by creating cleaner, greener and safer neighbourhoods
and;
- For prosperity by helping businesses and the unemployed
fulfil their potential.
