FOOD COURSE IMPROVES LIVES FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED

Henshaws Society for Blind People has received funding from GoodFund for a training course that helps people who are blind or visually impaired and also suffer with diabetes. The kitchen skills and calorie counting course took place at the SureStart centre in Cowgate.

GRASS IS GREENER FOR GARDEN CHARITY THANKS TO GOODFUND

The Shaw Trust’s gardening business is blooming a £3,500 donation from GoodFund, the charity arm of the People’s Postcode Lottery. The money has provided a brand new, top of the range, sit-on lawn mower which will be used by the Shaw Trust’s “Cutting Crew”, a team of trained gardeners that help elderly people living in Easington, Seaham and Murton by mowing their lawns and generally help with the upkeep of their gardens.

The cast of Aladdin take a well-earned rest on seating installed in the Theatre Royal’s Learning Space thanks to a £10,000 donation from local charity GoodFund.
