Update on Children North East’s Activities
13/01/2008
Over the last year Children North East, through its range of community based services, has supported many thousands of children, young people and families in the North East region who are experiencing times of difficulty.
In the past year the funding that Children North East has received from GoodFund has been used to provide support in many ways, the following being just a small example:
- Family Support work with families who are homeless and living in temporary accommodation
- Family Support to families who are in danger of becoming homeless or who have recently been re-homed after a period of homelessness
- Recruiting, training and support of volunteers who work with families of children under 8 who are experiencing difficult times
- Provision of services for children, young people and families in disadvantaged areas of Northumberland, both rural and urban.
- Support to primary school children and their families who have found school to be a challenging experience
Catrina Flynn said: “We are very grateful to receive these donations and thank all those involved in GoodFund, and the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, for their continuing support of Children North East which is the longest established children’s charity in the region.”
