JUST FOR KIDS A WINNER THANKS TO NEW POSTCODE LOTTERY

GoodFund, the charity lottery organiser, has got the ball rolling as it hands out its very first cheque to one of its permanent beneficiaries in the North East.

Just for Kids received a cheque worth £1,106 at its annual fundraiser ball in Gateshead, which will help support children across the region. The local charity will regularly receive money raised through the ticket sales of the new North East Postcode Lottery.

Manuela Wendler, executive manager for GoodFund, said: “It is thanks to the people of the region and their support for this new charity lottery, that we are able to support local charities.

“The proceeds from our first four monthly draws allowed us give £1,106 to Just for Kids. With weekly draws starting later this month and a constantly growing number of players, we anticipate to raise significant amounts of money for local good causes.”

Stephanie Buchanan, Just for Kids Manager, added: “We are very excited to be a beneficiary of the Postcode Lottery and extremely grateful for their support. This type of fundraiser not only gives people the chance to win but also benefits children from the local community.”

Just for Kids raises funds for children across the North East who suffer from abuse or neglect, are disabled and have special needs or who simply need extra care or guidance.

Goodfund receives a percentage of ticket sales of the charity lottery, operated by the Postcode Lottery. The North East is the first region in the UK to play the new lottery, which is expected to be rolled out to other parts of the country in the new year.

Other permanent beneficiaries in the region include Children North East, Make A Child Smile, Groundwork and the Sunshine Fund. The National Missing Persons Helpline is the only national charity receiving funds from the North East Postcode Lottery.
