African Get Together

De Schepper, Fiadlon and Elegant Group organised another African get together. The three prizewinners were back from their trip to Malawi and showed us a movie of the collaring of Aali Ajali. The new website was also shown, with the Track & Trace system, to see where Aali Ajali is at the moment.

Furthermore, the rest of the evening was again perfectly organised. There were more African drinks, treats and there even was an African dancer who tried to teach us dutchies to do an African dance! See the Picture Gallery...

African BBQ

In the middle of the summer, De Schepper, Fiadlon and Elegant Group organised an African ‘braai’. No elephant on the BBQ but a lot of other delicious exotic food.

During this evening, the winners of the competition were reveiled. And the winners were Jolanda de Fouw from Elegant Group, she came up with the name Hope for the elephant. The second winner was Ellen van Tuijl, with the name FES, which is made up of the first letters of the adopting companies. The third winner was Zeeger Ernsting. He used the Swahili dictionairy to make a translation for GoodLot, or Good Faith. The name he came up with was Aali Ajali. He did not only win a trip to Malawi, but also the honour that an African elephant is going to be named Aali Ajali. Read more...


Adopt an Elephant Kickoff

De Schepper, Fiadlon and Elegant Group started their campaign with a wonderful evening full of elephants.

Meliepap, South African wine, bobotie and elephant chocolates were served at the entrance and there was an enormous elephant standing in de Eegherij.

Further along the evening, Professor Willem van Riet, from the Peace Parks Foundation gave a presentation about the project, and the competition was explained. The three people that came up with the best name for their elephant would win a trip to Malawi! See the Picture Gallery...
